Artisan - AI Tools Nav

What it is for

Artisan is an AI BDR named Ava: it finds and enriches B2B leads, writes and sends personalized outreach, handles replies, and books meetings. Use it when the job is hire an outbound worker you can trial, not when you need a $36k/year digital-SDR contract.

It is not open source. Free is $0. Paid Intern is $250/month billed annually.

What makes it unique: the cover is Artisan’s official Startups plan grid — Free $0/mo, Intern $250/mo, Employee $600/mo, credits and “leads contacted” on the same cards.

Key features

Lead discovery — search a stated 250M+ verified B2B contact set by title, industry, geo, and company attributes (AI lead generation).
Waterfall enrichment — email and phone from multiple vendors before Ava enrolls the lead (Ava product).
Personalized sequences — Ava writes and sends outreach from your domains in the rep’s name (AI outreach).
Reply handling + booking — objections and positive replies route to a calendar hold (Meeting scheduling).
Human-in-the-loop locks — approve messages, lock tone / CTAs, set banned phrases, or pause a campaign (Ava product).
Intent + visitor signals — prioritize accounts showing buying behavior or on-site activity (Intent data).

Who it's for

Best fit: startup outbound teams who will spend credits per enrolled lead and connect a mailbox.

Poor fit: enterprises that already signed a digital-SDR SOW and will not move (11x).

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-22 (Asia/Shanghai) from the live Startups cards on artisan.co/pricing (cover) plus Artisan’s public plan copy. Re-check the Monthly / Annual toggle.

Startups (self-serve, annual toggle on the cover)

Free — $0/mo. 300 credits / month. No card. Explore the platform and enrich lists.
Intern — $250/mo billed annually ($280 month-to-month on third-party reads of the same page). 10,000 credits. ~500 leads contacted / month on the card.
Employee — $600/mo billed annually ($660 month-to-month). 25,000 credits. ~1,250 leads contacted / month.

Artisan’s own campaign docs: credits are charged per enrolled lead, not per step; a typical campaign is about 20 credits per person contacted. Mailboxes and phone numbers are billed separately. A human power dialer is listed at $67 / seat / month on public plan summaries.

Businesses & Enterprises (other toggle) — Team / Scale / Enterprise are sales-quoted. A 30-day trial of 10k credits (no card) is advertised on Ava 2.0 launch copy — confirm at signup.

Limitations / costs

Credits are the meter. 300 Free credits is a look, not a pipeline.
Mailboxes and dialer seats are extra on top of Intern / Employee.
Team / Scale dollars are not on the Startups grid. Talk to sales for ~2,500+ leads / month.
Not a 200M people browser. For that, see Apollo.

Alternatives

11x — Alice if you want a managed digital SDR at a $3,750/mo floor.
Instantly — send from many warmed inboxes if Ava is only the last hop.
Clay — enrich-then-export if you will not let Ava send.
