Things

What it is for

Things is a GTD task manager: you open Today, drill into Prepare Presentation, check Slides and notes, and the Mac SKU is $49.99 once. Use it when the job is a task list you start at a public $, not when you need Todoist’s Beginner $0 Today list only.

Soft-note: Mac $49.99 + iPhone $9.99 (separate SKUs; no universal license). Distinct from Todoist, TickTick, and Fantastical.

What makes it unique: the cover is Cultured Code’s official Meet Things Mac UI (Today, Prepare Presentation, Slides and notes, This Evening, When calendar) from the homepage Meet Things still — not a wordmark. Soft-note: staged blue marketing background, real app chrome. The Revise introduction row itself is ops of a project.

Key features

• Today — starred list with Ben’s birthday / gym / Coffee with Emma (cover still; culturedcode.com/things). One desk. Cover Today sits here.
• Prepare Presentation — the project window (cover). A project, not a Mac $49.99 meter.
• Slides and notes — Revise introduction / Review milestones / Collect sales statistics / Sep 30 handouts (cover). A checklist, not Get Things.
• This Evening — dinner reservation / field-trip bag (cover). An evening stack, not iPhone.
• When calendar — Today / This Evening / Someday + Add Reminder (cover). A when, not Universal.
• Areas + Inbox — Family / Work / Hobbies plus Inbox / Logbook (cover). Areas, not a subscription tile.

App Store / Buy are CTAs (not desks). Mac / iPhone / iPad $ stay in Pricing. There is no AI extra to drop.

Who it's for

Best fit: people who will pay $49.99 for the Mac app while they check a first Prepare Presentation heading — not iPhone $9.99 first unless that is the only device, and not Todoist Beginner $0 unless they want a free Today list.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-23 (Asia/Shanghai) from iTunes lookup id 904280696 (Mac $49.99) + id 904237743 (iPhone $9.99) + id 904244226 (iPad $19.99) plus culturedcode.com/things. Soft-note: separate SKUs; no universal license.

• Things 3 (Mac) — $49.99 one-time. iTunes formattedPrice $49.99. minimumOsVersion 13.3 on the lookup we fetched.
• Things 3 (iPhone) — $9.99 one-time. Separate SKU.
• Things 3 for iPad — $19.99 one-time on lookup id 904244226.
• No universal / family license on the lookups. Each platform is its own App Store buy.
• Not a subscription on the lookups we fetched.

Storefronts differ. Confirm the App Store checkout in your country; taxes may apply.

Limitations / costs

• There is no $0 seat and no universal license. Mac $49.99 does not include iPhone $9.99.
• A GTD desk, not Todoist’s Beginner $0 Today list. For that list see Todoist.
• The product is not OSS. We omit a GitHub CTA rather than invent a product repo.

Alternatives

• Todoist — a Today list when you want Beginner $0 / Pro $7, not Things’ Prepare Presentation project.
• TickTick — tasks + calendar when you want Free $0 / Premium $49.99/yr, not separate Mac / iPhone SKUs.
• Fantastical — a calendar when you want Free $0 / Premium ~$6.99/mo, not a GTD project window.
