Session

What it is for

Session is a Pomodoro + site-block desk: you start a 25:00 session on the analog timer, block distracting apps, and Free is $0 (analytics for the past 2 days). Use it when the job is a 25-minute block you start at a public $, not when you need Rize’s Basic $9.99 automatic log only.

Soft-note: Free $0 + Pro $4.99/mo or $3.33/mo yearly ($39.99). Distinct from Rize, Timing, and Motion.

What makes it unique: the cover is Session’s official 25:00 timer (What's your focus?, analog clock, 25:00, START SESSION) from the App Store still — not a wordmark. Soft-note: App Store marketing frame, real timer chrome. The 25:00 face itself is ops of the session.

Key features

• 25:00 timer — analog clock + START SESSION (cover still; product). One desk. Cover 25:00 sits here.
• Intention field — “What's your focus?” (cover). An intention, not a Pro tile.
• Website / app blocking — Safari / Chrome / Brave / Edge + Mac apps on Pro (product; pricing). A block, not a $4.99 meter.
• Session log — full history on Pro; Free keeps 2 days (pricing). A log, not Get started.
• Slack status — mute / restore when the timer starts (product). Slack, not Enterprise.
• Device sync — start on Mac, end on iOS (Pro) (pricing). Sync, not SSO.

Start session / Upgrade are CTAs (not desks). Free / Pro $ stay in Pricing. There is no AI extra to drop.

Who it's for

Best fit: people who will stay on Free $0 while they run a first 25:00 timer — then Pro at $4.99/mo (or $39.99/yr) when they need full logs and Mac blocking, not Timing’s Professional $108/yr first unless they want an automatic Mac timesheet.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-23 (Asia/Shanghai) from stayinsession.com/pricing plus the App Store IAP row. Soft-note: “Pricing slightly different depending on your region.”

• Free — $0/mo. Unlimited Session and rest. Analytics from the past 2 days. Calendar events inside Session.
• Pro monthly — $4.99/mo. Custom durations, full session log, Mac website/app blocking, Slack mute, real-time sync, Shortcuts / AppleScript, cloud backup.
• Pro yearly — $3.33/mo display ($39.99/yr on the App Store IAP).
• 7 days of Pro on account create; “No subscription was made.” Student 30% off one year (non-renewing). Confirm checkout.

Limitations / costs

• Free caps advanced stats at 2 days. Full session log is Pro.
• A Pomodoro, not an automatic timesheet. For Focus / Other / Neutral columns see RescueTime.
• The product is not OSS. We omit a GitHub CTA rather than invent a product repo.

Alternatives

• Rize — an automatic time tracker when you want Basic $9.99/mo annual, not a 25:00 analog timer.
• Timing — an automatic Mac timesheet when you want Professional $108/yr, not a Pomodoro block.
• Motion — a Today agenda when you want Pro AI $19/seat/mo yearly, not START SESSION.
