RemNote

What it is for

RemNote is a notes-that-are-cards desk: outline a lecture, type == to turn a bullet into a flashcard, then practice on a spaced-repetition queue. Use it when the job is remember the notes you already wrote, not when you need a generic doc wiki.

What makes it unique: the cover is RemNote’s own official help still — the Chemistry basics practice queue (What is a covalent chemical bond? plus Forgot / Recalled ratings) — not a pricing card.

Key features

• Outline notes — documents and folders; Enter / Tab to nest bullets (RemNote in 5 Minutes). One typed editor. Daily Notes / backlinks sit here. Mobile / desktop apps are install.
• Spaced-repetition practice — Flashcards Home → Practice; rate Forgot / Partially / Effort / Easy so RemNote schedules the next review (5 Minutes; Spaced Repetition). A queue, not the outline. Card types (==, cloze, image occlusion) and the exam-date calendar (Pro) are SKU of this queue, not extra products.
• PDF annotation — highlight and card from a PDF in the same document (pricing). Free: 3 annotated PDFs. A source, not a queue.
• Learn PDF / AI study — Pro with AI turns a PDF into cards, quizzes, summaries, plus AI grading and chat; 20,000 AI credits (pricing; 1.24 Learn PDF). A generate, not a == you typed. Text / PDF / PPT into cards are input variants of this.
• Handwritten documents — a dedicated stylus canvas (paged or infinite) from Create → Handwritten Document; export PDF / image (Handwriting and Drawing). A write-by-hand desk, not a typed outline. Free: 1 handwritten document. Drawing on a PDF you already opened sits on PDF annotation.

Tables and image occlusion sit on Pro as editor / card-type tools. AI credits are the meter for Learn PDF. Seats are personal (this is not a team CRM).

Who it's for

Best fit: students who will stay on Free ($0) for unlimited notes and cards and only buy Pro when they need unlimited PDFs, image occlusion, and the exam scheduler.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-22 (Asia/Shanghai) from the live remnote.com/pricing cards with Yearly selected.

• Free — $0. Unlimited notes and flashcards; unlimited synced devices. 3 annotated PDFs; 5 image-occlusion cards; 1 handwritten document.
• Pro — $8/month · $96 billed yearly. PDF annotation; image occlusion; tables and templates; exam scheduler; handwritten notes; 1,000 RemNote AI credits.
• Pro with AI — $18/month · $216 billed yearly. Learn PDF (AI flashcards, quizzes, summaries); lecture recorder; AI grading and chat; image-to-text; 20,000 AI credits.

A Monthly and a Lifetime toggle sit on that page. This check used the Yearly cards. Confirm checkout if Yearly is off — do not invent a monthly dollar from the yearly total.

EDU discounts are offered separately on the same pricing page; confirm the EDU form rather than assuming a public card.

Limitations / costs

• Free caps PDFs (3) and image-occlusion cards (5). Heavy PDF courses need Pro.
• $8 / $18 are yearly cards ($96 / $216 billed yearly). Confirm Monthly before you budget.
• Learn PDF and 20,000 credits start at Pro with AI, not Pro.
• A memory desk, not a CRM or a how-to video. For a mailbox CRM see Attio. For quiz-from-slides see Knowt.

Alternatives

• Knowt — slide/PDF → practice tests when RemNote’s outline-first cards are not the job.
• Notion AI — a wiki when you want docs, not a spaced-repetition queue.
• Mem — AI notes when you want a personal memory, not exam-dated flashcards.
