Heap

What it is for

Heap is a hosted chart-builder desk: you pick View Homepage, and Free is $0 for the first 10,000 monthly sessions. Use it when the job is autocaptured product charts you start at $0, not when you need a $20 chat seat.

What makes it unique: the cover is Heap’s official chart builder (Marketing Campaign, General - View Homepage, Filter / Group by / Compare users, More → Sessions / Ratio / Conversion / Retention) from the Charts still — not a pricing card. The query itself is ops of Charts.

Key features

• Chart builder — a named chart you filter and group (cover still; Charts). One desk. Cover Marketing Campaign / View Homepage sit here.
• Autocapture — events Heap records without a tracking plan (pricing). A stream, not a saved chart. Free includes core analytics charts.
• Funnels / retention / journeys — conversion and return charts on the same builder (Charts). A path, not a single event card.
• Dashboards — up to 100 charts on one board (Dashboards overview). A board, not the builder.
• Alerts — email / Slack when a chart moves (alert still; Charts). A page, not a sixth desk we fold into Marketing Campaign.

Update results / Add a filter on the cover are CTAs (not desks). Free 10k sessions and custom Growth/Pro quotes are the meter. Session Replay / heatmaps are a Pro/Premier add-on, not the chart builder.

Who it's for

Best fit: product teams who will stay on Free at $0 (10k sessions, 6 months of history) while they open a first Marketing Campaign chart, then ask Heap for a Growth estimate when they need CSV export or 12-month history.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-23 (Asia/Shanghai) from heap.io/pricing. Growth is “get an estimate.” Pro / Premier print Custom Session Pricing. Do not invent a Growth dollar.

• Free — $0. Up to 10k monthly sessions. Core analytics charts. Unlimited enrichment sources. Guides integrations. 6 months data history. SSO.
• Growth — all Free, plus Sense AI, unlimited users & reports, chart customization, CSV exports, 12 months history, email support. The page asks you to install the snippet for an estimate — no public $.
• Pro / Premier — custom session pricing. Session Replay is an add-on. Confirm the live quote.
• Overage — Heap says it will not drop data; you must upgrade before you can view data again.

Confirm checkout; taxes follow your location.

Limitations / costs

• Growth / Pro / Premier have no public $. Quote only Free $0 / 10k sessions.
• A chart-builder desk, not Mixpanel’s Free 1M-event Insights. For that Insights desk see Mixpanel.

Alternatives

• Mixpanel — Insights when you want Mixpanel’s public $ (Free $0 / 1M events), not Heap’s 10k-session Free.
• PostHog — product analytics you can self-host when you want PostHog’s public $, not Heap’s chart builder.
• Amplitude — Topics / events when you want Amplitude’s first 2M events at $0.
