Framer AI

What it is for

Framer AI is Framer’s site-building agent: describe a page or a change, it writes editable layers on the canvas, then you publish. Use it when the job is a marketed site you still design by hand, not when you need a Next.js repo.

It is not open source. Free exists ($0, 500 AI credits to try). Paid Basic is $10/mo; Pro is $30/mo on the yearly cards we fetched.

What makes it unique: the cover is Framer’s official AI builder still — canvas of the Bloom research homepage plus the Agent chat (“Change the hero to a vertical stack…”) with a layer-by-layer edit log.

Key features

• Prompt to editable pages — describe the site; the agent creates pages, sections, copy, and visuals as canvas layers you can take over (Framer AI).
• Edit an existing site in the thread — “change the hero,” swap an image, restyle a section without leaving the canvas (cover; Framer AI).
• CMS through the agent — create collections and populate items in the same project (Framer AI).
• Code components from a description — ask for an interaction; the agent writes a component you review in Framer (Framer AI).
• Pre-publish review — contrast, typos, missing alt text, SEO gaps, inconsistent styles, then fix in-project (Framer AI).
• External agents — connect Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex so those tools edit the Framer project (Framer AI).

Who it's for

Best fit: designers and marketers who will finish the site on Framer’s canvas, not export a repo.

Poor fit: founders who need GitHub + a real backend (Lovable or Softgen).

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-22 (Asia/Shanghai) from framer.com/pricing (Yearly billing). AI features spend workspace credits. Re-check the Monthly / Yearly toggle.

• Free — $0. 500 AI credits to try Agents (when the workspace has no paid site). Framer domain. 1 GB bandwidth. Design pages. No custom domain.
• Basic — $10/month. Custom domain. 1,000 credits / month (2× first month). 2 CMS collections. 50 GB bandwidth. Extra editors $20/month; viewers free. Content editors $10.
• Pro — $30/month. 3,000 credits / month (2× first month). 10 CMS collections. 100 GB. Redirects, staging, branching. Add credits anytime.
• Enterprise — custom credits, SSO/SCIM, unlimited editors.

Localization, Convert/A-B, and Advanced Hosting are add-ons on the same page. Credits are shared across the workspace. Confirm the yearly vs monthly dollars at checkout — this capture used Yearly.

Limitations / costs

• Free is 500 trial credits and a Framer subdomain. Custom domain is paid.
• Agents burn credits. A long CMS or code-component thread is not “unlimited AI.”
• This is not a git export. The source of truth is the Framer project.
• Editors are a second meter ($20 each) on top of the site plan.

Alternatives

• Durable — prompt-to-small-business site with CRM/booking if you do not want a design canvas.
• Relume — sitemap + wireframe if the next step is Webflow / Figma, not Framer hosting.
• Lovable — prompt-to-app with GitHub if the deliverable is a web app, not a marketed site.
