What it is for

Tripo is a text-or-image-to-3D studio: prompt or drop a photo, get a mesh, then texture, rig, print-split, or grab a community asset. Use it when the job is a game- or print-ready 3D asset in the browser, not when you need a full DCC like Blender.

What makes it unique: the cover is Tripo’s own official Smart Mesh still — textured robot beside a quad wireframe — from tripo3d.ai, not a pricing card. (The homepage itself is behind Cloudflare; we used their published generate still.)

Key features

• 3D generate — one generate: text, a photo, or 2–4 views → mesh (What features; Studio tutorial). High Detail (up to 2M) and Smart Mesh (500–25K quads) are this generate’s topology choice, not a second product.
• PBR / 8K texturing — albedo / normal / metallic / roughness, up to 8K on Max (homepage Texturing). A paint pass, not a new mesh.
• Rig + animate — auto-rig characters/creatures, then motion (homepage “Rig and Animate”). Motion, not a generate.
• Print split / export — auto-split for a bed; STL / 3MF / OBJ (homepage 3D Printing). A slicer handoff, not a texture.
• Community Gallery — browse featured community models, collect them, or Feature My Model onto the homepage Gallery (tripo3d.ai “AI 3D Model Gallery”; Feature My Model; discover “Community & Asset Library”). A library of other people’s assets, not a generate.

Retopology / remesh sit on the generate topology choice. Smart segmentation sits on the same mesh (print split uses it). DCC Bridge / API are install / SDK. Credits are the meter. Model names (H2.5, image SKUs) are SKU.

Who it's for

Best fit: game and print makers who will pay Pro so more than Free’s 200 public, non-commercial credits sit on a private asset.

• Free — $0. 200 monthly credits (≈13 models). 1 concurrent task; public models; non-commercial; limited history / exports.
• Pro — $20/month billed annually ($240/year). 3,000 credits (≈200 models). 10 concurrent; private + commercial; batch; 7-day history; DCC Bridge; Smart Mesh / multi-view.
• Max — $90/month billed annually ($1,080/year). 25,000 credits (≈1,660 models). 100 concurrent; permanent history; unlimited retries; 8K textures.
• Team — $55 / seat / month billed annually (card also $110 / $1,980/year on the pack we opened). 90,000 shared credits; 200 concurrent; shared workspace.

Free FAQ says you can generate without paying; commercial use starts on Pro (private models). Confirm checkout if Team’s per-seat vs pack dollar is not the $55 we copied.

Limitations / costs

• $20 / $90 / $55 are yearly-billed cards. Confirm monthly checkout if you do not want annual.
• Free is public + non-commercial + 200 credits. Pro is the first private/commercial card.
