Tella - AI Tools Nav

What it is for

Tella is a screen-and-camera recorder with a hosted editor: capture a clip in the browser / Mac / Windows / Chrome, cut it on a timeline, then share a link. Use it when the job is an async demo or video message you host yourself, not when you need a meeting bot that already sits in Zoom.

What makes it unique: the cover is Tella’s own homepage product still — Edit / Download / Share, a Link copied toast, Help Center walkthrough + webcam bubble — not a pricing card.

Key features

Record — screen, camera, mic, and system audio in the web app, native Mac/Windows apps, or Chrome extension (tella.com; pricing Recording). One capture; those surfaces are install, not four products. Clips up to 6 hours, up to 4K, transcription in 106 languages.
Timeline editor — transcript cuts plus Auto Cut (silence / filler / buffers / mistakes), Auto Zoom, Auto Layouts, and Studio Voice on the same desk (features; pricing Editing). Those Auto-* toggles are tools on this editor, not four generates.
Tella Agent — chat in the sidebar that edits the video; burns credits (pricing Credits; help/billing). A second pass, not the timeline.
Share / embed — instant link, embed, password, domain restriction, and (Premium) white-label / custom domain (pricing Sharing). Delivery, not a render.
Analytics — views, unique viewers, watch time, funnels (pricing Analytics; Premium-heavier). An ops desk, not a cut.

Auto Capture (agent records a URL) is closed beta — not a fifth public KF. MCP / Public API are install / SDK. Credits are the meter for the Agent. 4K vs 60 FPS are export SKU.

Who it's for

Best fit: founders and CS teams who will pay Pro after the 7-day trial so they can keep recording — there is no permanent Free row.

Do not invent a permanent Free $0 row. Confirm checkout if the Annual toggle is off.

Limitations / costs

No permanent Free plan. Trial is 7 days; then Pro is the floor.
$13 / $19 are yearly-billed cards. Monthly is $26 / $39.
Agent credits reset monthly. Trial includes none.
A recorder, not a meeting notebook. For a bot in Zoom, see Fireflies.ai or ScreenApp.

Alternatives

Descript — transcript-first editor when Tella’s hosted share page is not the job.
ScreenApp — recorder-to-notes when you want a library, not a polished demo page.
Gling — auto-cut talking-head when you do not need Tella’s share/analytics stack.
