Litmaps

What it is for

Litmaps is a citation-map discovery app: you seed one or more papers and get a visual map plus recommendations. Use it when the job is see the neighborhood of a paper, not when you need a full-text research agent.

What makes it unique: the official search-algorithm docs (and the cover) show Shared Citations & References / Common Authors / Similar Text as the map engines.

Key features

• Litmap from seed papers — start from one article, then explore related work (docs).
• Shared Citations & References — default algorithm; co-citations on a single seed.
• Common Authors / Similar Text — switch the engine after the map exists.
• Date and keyword filters — named on the same docs page and the official video.
• Export / collaboration — paid cards add unlimited maps and team-wide sharing.

Who it's for

Best fit: students and literature reviewers who think in citation neighborhoods.
