Jira

What it is for

Jira is a hosted Timeline desk: you open work items on a calendar bar, and Free is $0. Use it when the job is a timeline you start at a public $, not when you need a $20 chat seat.

What makes it unique: the cover is Jira’s official Timeline (The Next Big Thing, items TBT-1 Asset creation, TBT-11 Templates - Asset, TBT-13 Design cover photo, TBT-14 Templates - Website, TBT-3 Templates - Sales, January / February bars) from the features still on atlassian.com/software/jira/features — not a pricing card. The rows themselves are ops of Timeline.

Key features

• Timeline — work items on a date bar (cover still; features). One desk. Cover TBT-13 / Design cover photo sit here. Today sits here as a CTA, not a sixth desk.
• Board — columns next to Timeline (cover tabs Board / List / Calendar). A board, not a bar.
• List — the table of the same items (cover tab). A list, not a January bar.
• Forms — request forms on the project (cover tab; features). A form, not a Timeline row.
• Reports — progress next to the timeline (cover tab Reports). A report, not TBT-1.

Create / Search / Today on the chrome are CTAs (not desks). Free / Standard / Premium tiles are the meter. Automation steps per user are the extra meter, not a desk we fold into Timeline. Rovo / Improve work item is an AI extra.

Who it's for

Best fit: small teams who will stay on Free at $0 (10 users) while they open a first Timeline, then Standard at $8.48/user/month when the 11th user or the paid automation pack is required.
