Freedom - AI Tools Nav

What it is for

Freedom is a cross-device distraction-block desk: you tap Start a Session, lock sites and apps, and Premium is $8.99/month (yearly display $3.33/month). Use it when the job is a block you start at a public $, not when you need Rize’s Basic $9.99 time log only.

Soft-note: Free $0 + Premium $8.99 / $3.33 yearly + Forever one-time up to $199 (live promo printed $99.50). Distinct from Rize, Motion, and Reclaim.

What makes it unique: the cover is Freedom’s official Start a Session UI (Good Morning, START A SESSION, Wednesday 25min Session / 13 minutes left, Scheduled Evening Decompression) from the App Store still — not a wordmark. Soft-note: App Store marketing frame (Be focused & productive), real session chrome. The START A SESSION row itself is ops of the session.

Key features

Start a Session — the green start control (cover still; premium). One desk. Cover greeting sits here.
Active session — Wednesday 25min + minutes left + blocklist count (cover). A session, not a Premium tile.
Scheduled blocks — Evening Decompression / Lunch Break (cover). A schedule, not a $8.99 meter.
Blocklists — sites, apps, or the entire internet (premium). A list, not Get started.
Multi-device sync — one session across Mac / Windows / iOS / Android / Chromebook (premium). Sync, not Enterprise.
Locked Mode — Premium stops you quitting mid-block (premium). A lock, not SSO.

Start free / Get Premium are CTAs (not desks). Free / Premium / Forever $ stay in Pricing. There is no AI extra to drop.

Who it's for

Best fit: people who will stay on Free $0 while they start a first 25-minute session — then Premium at $8.99/mo (or $3.33 yearly) when they need Locked Mode and recurring schedules, not Motion’s Pro AI $19 agenda first.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-23 (Asia/Shanghai) from freedom.to/premium. Soft-note: Forever is promo-sensitive — we print Premium $ and Forever up to $199.

Free — $0. Block apps / websites / the internet; sync sessions; unlimited devices. Custom blocklists and desktop app blocking sit on the Free card we fetched.
Premium monthly — $8.99/month plus tax where applicable. Scheduling, recurring / advance sessions, Locked Mode, unlimited (2+ hour) sessions.
Premium yearly — $3.33/month display (yearly billed). Same Premium feature list.
Forever — one-time. Schema maxPrice 199; the page also printed a 50% OFF $99.50 promo. Prefer Premium $ + Forever up to $199. Re-check the live promo before you buy.
7-day Premium trial on the yearly card. Confirm checkout.

Limitations / costs

Free is restricted vs Premium. Scheduling, Locked Mode, and unlimited long sessions are Premium.
A blocker, not an auto timesheet. For Focus / Other / Neutral columns see RescueTime.
The product is not OSS. We omit a GitHub CTA rather than invent a product repo.

Alternatives

Rize — an automatic time tracker when you want Basic $9.99/mo annual, not a Start a Session block.
Motion — a Today agenda when you want Pro AI $19/seat/mo yearly, not Locked Mode.
Reclaim — an AI week defender when you want Lite $0 / Starter $10, not a cross-device blocklist.
