Fathom

What it is for

Fathom is a meeting recorder and AI notes app: it captures Zoom / Meet / Teams (bot or bot-free on Mac beta) and turns the call into a transcript, summary, clips, and Ask Fathom. Use it when the job is a searchable record of every meeting, not when you need TTS or a DAW.

It is not open source. Free exists ($0). Premium is the first public paid card for individuals.

What makes it unique: the cover is Fathom’s official post-call workspace from the homepage carousel — Enhanced Summary, Action items, video, and Ask Fathom — not a slogan poster.

Key features

• Calendar capture — records Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams so the call is saved without a separate recorder (Quick Start).
• Transcript + AI summary — after the call, the workspace opens Enhanced Summary beside the video (Help Center).
• Action items — the same post-call view lists owners and next steps you can copy out of the meeting.
• Ask Fathom — question the recording instead of scrubbing the timeline.
• Clips and search — jump to a moment or share a clip from the saved recording.

Who it's for

Best fit: individuals and sales teams who want every call captured and will pay when they need advanced summaries or a shared workspace.

Poor fit: people who only need a transcript they edit as video (Descript) or a noise-cancel plugin (Krisp).
