CustomGPT

What it is for

CustomGPT is a hosted RAG agent desk: ingest a site or a pile of files, chat with citations, then embed the same agent. Use it when the job is a customer-facing knowledge bot billed by queries, not when you need a $20 chat seat.

What makes it unique: the cover is CustomGPT’s own homepage product still — a three-pane conversation (member question → cited answer → CPD policy.pdf) — not a pricing card.

Key features

• Agent ingest — New Agent from a website / sitemap, files (1,400+ formats), YouTube, or a connector (Create agent; pricing). One ingest; those sources are input variants, not five products.
• Cited chat — answers with source links (cover “How it answered”; pricing Anti-hallucination / Citations). A reply, not a crawl.
• Deploy — embed widget, Slack, and share URL from the same agent (Getting started). Delivery, not a draft.
• RAG API — POST /api/v1/projects then conversation send (API quickstart). A pipe, not the no-code desk.
• Analytics — query history and customer intelligence (7-day on Standard; full on Premium). An ops desk, not a chat.

Persona / colors / starter questions sit on the same agent. Auto-sync (Premium) is a refresh of this ingest. Queries and document processing are the meter. Model names are SKU.

Who it's for

Best fit: support and association teams who will pay Standard $99 after the 7-day trial so they can keep 10 agents and 1,000 queries — there is no permanent Free row.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-22 (Asia/Shanghai) from customgpt.ai/pricing. Monthly cards; Yearly save 10%.

• Trial — 7 days on Standard or Premium. Card on file; billed when the trial ends.
• Standard — $99/month or $89/month billed yearly ($1,068/year). 10 agents; 1,000 queries / month; 5,000 docs / agent; 60M words; 3 seats; RAG API.
• Premium — $499/month or $449/month billed yearly ($5,388/year). 25 agents; 5,000 queries; 20,000 docs; 300M words; 5 seats; auto-sync; remove branding; PII anonymizer; SharePoint.
• Enterprise — custom. Flexible limits; SSO / RBAC; Azure OpenAI / Bedrock; dedicated SEs.

Do not mix the $89 / $449 yearly cards with the $99 / $499 monthly ones. Overages and add-ons sit under Customize on the same page.

Limitations / costs

• No permanent Free plan. Trial is 7 days.
• $89 / $449 are yearly-billed. Monthly is $99 / $499.
• Queries and docs are the cap. Standard is 1,000 queries / 5,000 docs.
• A RAG agent, not a general chat. For a cheaper widget, see Chatbase.

Alternatives

• Chatbase — another customer-agent desk when CustomGPT’s $99 floor is not the job.
• StackAI — an enterprise canvas when you want workflows, not only RAG chat.
• Dify — a studio you can self-host.
