Cleanup.pictures

What it is for

Cleanup.pictures is a browser inpainting editor: the signed-out canvas (see the cover: uploaded photo, Brush slider, Clean / Undo) is the product. Use it when the job is paint out an object, person, or stamp, not when you need a full catalog studio.

It is not open source. Free exists. Pro is the first public paid card.

What makes it unique: the cover is the live brush editor with a real photo on the canvas — not a before/after poster.

Key features

• Brush canvas — drop an image, paint the region, run cleanup (cover).
• Object / people / text / watermark removal — the same inpaint pass (FAQ).
• Resolution — Free export capped at 720px; Pro has no size limit on the FAQ we copied.
• API — documented for Node / Swift / Kotlin products.
• HD trial — FAQ: test HD before you subscribe.

Who it's for

Best fit: photographers and shop owners who need a one-click object erase.

Poor fit: teams that need catalog backgrounds and fashion models (PhotoRoom) or a generative image studio (Krea).

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-21 (Asia/Shanghai) from the Pricing FAQ on cleanup.pictures. Re-check before you buy.

• Free — $0. Edit any size; export limited to 720px.
• Pro — $5 / month or $36 / year ($3 / month equivalent on the FAQ). Any export size; works on mobile and desktop.
• API — documented; no public per-call dollar on the homepage FAQ we copied. Do not invent one.

Each Pro subscription is 1 user (FAQ). Refunds after purchase are rare (14-day window described on the same FAQ).

Limitations / costs

• Free is 720px out. HD is the paid reason.
• Not a background-remover first. The FAQ points background cutout at ClipDrop.
• One seat per Pro sub.
• Watermark removal is a license problem, not just a brush — the FAQ says so.

Alternatives

• PhotoRoom — signed-out background remover plus Pro catalog tools.
• Adobe Firefly — generative edit composer; Standard US$9.99/mo.
• Canva — design canvas with Magic Studio; Pro US$144/year.
