Bartender - AI Tools Nav

What it is for

Bartender is a macOS menu-bar manager: you open All Presets, hit Activate on Home / Image Editing / Work, and the live SKU is $24.99 once for Bartender 7. Use it when the job is a menu-bar layout you start at a public $, not when you need Raycast’s Free $0 launcher only.

Soft-note: Bartender 7 $24.99 one-time (updates within v7) + Bartender Pro $19.99/yr. Distinct from Raycast, Rectangle, and Alfred.

What makes it unique: the cover is Bartender’s official All Presets list (Default macOS menu bar items Built-in, Home, Image Editing, Media & Storage, Presenting, Work + Activate / Edit) from the Bartender 6 presets still — not a wordmark. The Work row itself is ops of Presets.

Key features

All Presets list — Default / Home / Image Editing / Media & Storage / Presenting / Work (cover still; Bartender 6 presets). One desk. Cover Work sits here.
Built-in clean bar — Default macOS menu bar items hides everything except a clean-install set (cover). A clean bar, not a Pro tile.
Home / Image Editing / Media & Storage — named layouts you Activate (cover; homepage profiles). Layouts, not a $24.99 meter.
Presenting — “Temporarily hide everything for presenting” (cover). A hide, not Get Bartender.
Work row — VPN + Strongbox on the cover (cover). A work layout, not Mega.
Command Bar — search and trigger any menu-bar item from the keyboard (Meet Bartender 7). A command bar, not Top Shelf as a sixth cover desk.

Get Bartender / Buy are CTAs (not desks). The $24.99 / $19.99 cards stay in Pricing. There is no AI extra to drop.

Who it's for

Best fit: Mac users who will pay $24.99 once for Bartender 7 while they Activate a first Work preset — not Pro $19.99/yr first unless they want future majors + Top Shelf, and not Raycast’s Free launcher unless they only need a command palette.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-23 (Asia/Shanghai) from Meet Bartender 7 plus macbartender.com. Soft-note: the blog prints $24.99 and $19.99; the marketing homepage HTML we fetched does not reprint those SKUs (widget demos are not the desk).

Bartender 7 — $24.99 one-time. “Includes all future updates for Bartender 7.” One-time v7 excludes future majors.
Bartender Pro — $19.99/yr subscription. Blog: “all versions of Bartender for the duration of your subscription alongside Top Shelf.”
Mega Supporter — lifetime / every version on the blog and homepage. The Mega $ is not printed on the HTML we fetched. Do not invent a Mega $.
Trial — “Bartender 7 includes a four week trial for new users” (blog). Returning trials: two weeks on that post.
Not on the Mac App Store in the iTunes lookups we ran (Surtees / “Bartender menu bar” did not return this product). Buy on macbartender.com.

Confirm checkout; taxes may apply.

Limitations / costs

One-time v7 excludes future majors. Pro is the printed path for “all versions… for the duration of your subscription.”
A menu-bar manager, not Raycast’s Free $0 File Search. For that launcher see Raycast.
The product is not OSS. We omit a GitHub CTA rather than invent a product repo.

Alternatives

Raycast — a launcher + window commands when you want Free $0 / Pro $10, not Bartender’s All Presets Work row.
Rectangle — a window-snap desk when you want Free OSS $0 Snap Areas, not a menu-bar layout.
Alfred — a launcher + workflows when you want Free app / Powerpack £34, not Activate on Home.

Official tutorial

We searched @bartender (200; oEmbed author bartender / @bartender5557 — a different channel, video title bartender, not macbartender), @bartender7 (200; channel title Hive Bartender), @andysurtees (200; channel title Andy Surtees — not a product how-to we will embed), @macbartender (404), and @bartenderapp (404). We do not treat those as an official Bartender product channel and we do not embed them.
