Strapi is an open-source headless CMS desk: you model a type, write an entry, and you can start Cloud Starter at $35/project/month or Community self-host at $0. Use it when the job is entries you start at $35 Cloud or OSS $0, not when you need a $20 chat seat.

What makes it unique: the cover is the official Strapi Content Manager edit view (This shrimp is awesome, Draft / Publish, Releases) from the Content Manager docs — not a pricing card. The editor itself is ops of Content.

Key features

• Content Manager — an entry you draft and publish (Content Manager; Get started). One entry. Draft vs Publish is how this ships. The cover is ops. The REST / GraphQL APIs are install.
• Content-Type Builder — the schema that defines fields on an entry. A type, not a written article. Components and dynamic zones sit here.
• Media Library — files you attach to an entry. An asset, not the article body. Cloud Starter includes 50 GB asset storage.
• Roles & permissions — who can draft, publish, or hit an API. A grant, not an entry. Growth self-host and Cloud Pro raise this.
• Self-host / Cloud — Community you run at $0, or Cloud from $35/project/month (pricing-cloud; pricing-self-hosted). A deploy, not an entry. Cloud bills the project; extra environments are +$60/month on the cards we fetched.

API requests and asset storage are the Cloud meters. SSO on self-host Growth is an add-on. Strapi AI credits are SKU.

Who it's for

Best fit: content / app teams who will stay on Community self-host $0 while they publish a first article, or start Cloud Starter at $35/project/month (100k API requests, 50 GB assets) when they do not want to run Node themselves.

Self-host

Limitations / costs
