What it is for

SST Console is a hosted ops desk for SST apps on AWS: you connect an account, see stages and functions, and workspaces with 350 or fewer active resources are $0. Use it when the job is logs and deploys you start at $0, not when you need a $20 chat seat.

What makes it unique: the cover is the official SST Console overview (apps, stages, team, Invite team) from the docs still — not a pricing card. The stage list itself is ops of Apps. The Console is optional; your AWS bill is separate.

Key features

• Apps and stages — the SST apps the Console found in your AWS account (overview still; docs). One stage. Personal stages stay reachable even above the free tier. Connecting AWS (CloudFormation in us-east-1) is install.
• Logs — CloudWatch-class log search without opening AWS (docs Logs). A stream, not a stage. Local sst dev logs sit here.
• Issues — realtime errors from Node.js Lambdas and containers, Slack/email (docs Issues). An alert, not a log line. Other runtimes are roadmap.
• Autodeploy — git push deploys the app (docs Autodeploy). A pipeline, not a log. Updates (every deploy’s detail) are ops of this.
• Workspaces — a team + AWS accounts you invite people to (cover Invite team; pricing workspace). A billing bucket. Active resources are metered per workspace / month.

Resources (the inventory of what SST created) are the meter, not a sixth desk. Self-hosting the Console is promised later — do not count it.

Who it's for

Best fit: SST/AWS teams who will stay on the free tier (≤350 active resources, no card) while they open a first Console overview, then pay $0.086 per active resource / month when a workspace stays over 350.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-23 (Asia/Shanghai) from sst.dev/docs/console/ Pricing. “Starting Feb 1, 2025, the Console will be priced based on the number of active resources.” You can create an account and invite a team without a card.

• Free tier — workspaces with 350 active resources or fewer: $0. No card to start. Personal stages remain accessible if you go over.
• Paid — first 2,000 active resources at $0.086 each / month. 2,000+ at $0.032 each / month. Example in the docs: 351 resources → 351 × $0.086 = $30.2.
• What “active” means — a resource from a stage that has existed ≥2 weeks and was updated this month. A 12-day-old stage is not active. Volume pricing: contact hello@sst.dev.
• Old invocation pricing (historical only) — first 1M invocations free, then $0.00002 / $0.000002. Do not use this for today’s bill.
• Your AWS bill is separate. The Console IAM role can stay read-only if you tighten the stack.

Limitations / costs

• AWS only. The Console does not list non-AWS SST apps.
• 351 resources is ~$30.20, not a $20 seat. The 350 free cap is a cliff.
• Issues are Node.js-only today. Other runtimes are roadmap.
• A Console, not a PaaS. For a project canvas that runs the process see Northflank or Railway.

Alternatives

• Northflank — a usage-metered project canvas when you will not deploy with SST.
• Railway — a $0 / $5 / $20 deploy desk when you do not want an AWS Console sidecar.
• Trigger.dev — background jobs when the job is tasks, not SST stages.
