Klap

What it is for

Klap is a long-to-short clip desk: paste a YouTube link or upload a talking video, get vertical clips with captions and a reframe, then export or schedule. Use it when the job is cut a podcast or talk into Shorts, not when you need a timeline NLE.

What makes it unique: the cover is Klap’s own homepage generated result — AI Reframe 2, a 2×2 “before” grid vs the reframed speakers — not a pricing card.

Key features

• AI clipping — upload or paste a link; the model finds topics and cuts vertical clips (klap.app; FAQ: ~5 clips per minute of source). Captions + face-aware crop on that export are the same generate pipeline.
• AI Reframe 2 — the cover job: split-screen / speaker layout for the clip you already have (homepage “Introducing AI Reframe 2”). A layout pass, not another find-clips run.
• AI B-rolls — insert B-roll on the clip (pricing compare “AI B-rolls”). Media, not a cut.
• Brand kit — fonts / kit on Business (pricing compare). Branding, not a generate.
• Schedule social posts — Creator+ can schedule (pricing “Schedule social posts”). A calendar, not an edit.

Languages (52) and 4K / 720p export are SKU. Monthly credits are the meter. API rate limits are SDK.

Who it's for

Best fit: podcasters and educators who will pay Basic or Pro so more than the free single video ships without a watermark.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-22 (Asia/Shanghai) from klap.app/pricing. Cards print billed yearly dollars. Homepage FAQ still says “Klap Pro for just $29/month” — we copy the Pricing cards, not FAQ.

• Basic — $14/month billed yearly. 100 clips / month. Individuals.
• Pro — $39/month billed yearly. 300 clips / month.
• Pro+ — $94/month billed yearly. 1,000 clips / month. Teams.

The compare table also lists a Free column (watermark, 720p, 60 monthly credits, 3-day storage). The three price cards we copied are Basic / Pro / Pro+. Do not invent a Free $0 dollar that the cards omitted — the Free column is the watermarked trial path. Confirm checkout for a monthly (non-yearly) Basic/Pro if you do not want annual.

Limitations / costs

• $14 / $39 / $94 are yearly-billed cards. FAQ $29 Pro is stale if checkout shows $39.
• Speech-heavy source. FAQ: works best when people talk.
• Clip factory, not a YouTube title desk. For silence-cut + titles, see a dedicated YouTube editor.

Alternatives

• OpusClip — another long-to-short clipper.
• Captions — talking-head editor with captions first.
• Descript — full timeline when you need an NLE.

Official tutorial

We searched for an official Klap YouTube getting-started walkthrough we could oEmbed. No first-party company-channel lesson we could verify; third-party demos are not embedded. Use written klap.app (upload → clips → export) plus Pricing.
