Insomnia

What it is for

Insomnia is Kong's API client: you open a Personal Workspace, browse the Insomnia-Airlines tree, and start a GET List a pokemon, and Essentials is $0/user. Use it when the job is a request desk you start at a public $, not when you need Bruno's file-first collection only.

Soft-note: Essentials Free + Pro $12. Distinct from Hoppscotch, Bruno, and Postman.

What makes it unique: the cover is Insomnia's official Personal Workspace (Projects Konnect (1), GET List a pokemon, Welcome, Haley!, Insomnia-Airlines tree with flights-svc / bookings-svc / baggage-svc, HTTP/HTTPS booking folders, collection cards baggage-svc / flights-svc / Insomnia-Airlines Environment / bookings-svc, Create / Import, Made with ♥ by Kong) from image-hero-insomnia-20260612.png on insomnia.rest — not a wordmark. The flights-svc row itself is ops of the tree.

Key features

• Workspace chrome — Personal Workspace / Projects Konnect (1) (cover still; insomnia.rest). One desk. Cover Welcome, Haley! sits here.
• Airlines tree — Insomnia-Airlines / flights-svc / bookings-svc / baggage-svc (cover). A tree, not a Pro tile.
• GET List a pokemon — the top request chip (cover). A request, not a $12 meter.
• Collection cards — baggage-svc / flights-svc / Insomnia-Airlines Environment / bookings-svc (cover). A card, not Enterprise.
• HTTP folders — HTTPS / HTTP /bookings/{param_1}/bagels methods (cover). A folder, not mock.
• Filter / Sync — sidebar Filter + Sync (cover). A filter, not Get Started.

Create / Import / Invite on the cover are CTAs (not desks). Essentials / Pro / Enterprise tiles stay in Pricing. AI-powered QoL stays off Key features as an AI extra.

Who it's for

Best fit: small teams who will stay on Essentials at $0 (Git Sync for up to 3 users) while they open a first Insomnia-Airlines tree, then Pro at $12/user/month when a 4th Git Sync user appears — not Enterprise $45 first unless they need SSO / SCIM / Konnect.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-23 (Asia/Shanghai) from insomnia.rest/pricing. Soft-note: Pro prints $12 (the ~$10 class is the mock overage, not the seat).

• Essentials — $0 / user / month. Unlimited Git Sync projects for up to 3 users, unlimited cloud / local projects, Inso CLI, unlimited collection runs / environments, 1,000 mock requests / month, E2EE.
• Pro — $12 / user / month (card: 15% savings). Unlimited users + Git Sync, RBAC, 10,000 mock requests / month.
• Mock overage — $10 / 25,000 requests after the included mock quota (Essentials / Pro).
• Enterprise — $45 / user / month (self-serve up to 50; larger = sales). SSO / SCIM, storage mandate, vaults, unlimited mocks. 14-day trial, no card.

Confirm checkout; taxes follow your location.

Limitations / costs

• Git Sync for a 4th user is Pro $12. The Haley welcome desk on the cover is Essentials.
• Mock traffic after 1,000 reqs is $10 / 25k on Essentials.
• A Kong client, not Bruno's .bru folder. For that folder see Bruno.

Alternatives

• Hoppscotch — a browser API client when you want Free $0 / Business $6 annual, not Insomnia's Welcome, Haley!.
• Bruno — a git-friendly collection when you want Free $0 / Pro $6 annual, not Insomnia-Airlines.
• Postman — a hosted API platform when you want Free / Team $19 yearly, not Kong's Personal Workspace.

Official tutorial

We searched @GetInsomnia (that handle resolved to unrelated Roblox, not insomnia.rest) and Kong's channel for an Insomnia how-to. No first-party Personal Workspace / Airlines how-to resolved at check. We do not embed those as officialVideo. Use the written pricing and the hero still.
