Genmo

What it is for

Genmo is a hosted Mochi playground plus Apache-2.0 weights: the signed-out Mochi 1.1 Playground (see the cover) is “Describe your video…” with Generate and prompt chips. Use it when the job is a short clip from a sentence, or run Mochi locally.

The playground is hosted. Mochi 1 weights are Apache 2.0 on GitHub.

What makes it unique: the cover is the live playground composer (prompt + Generate), and the same lab ships the open model.

Key features

• Mochi 1.1 Playground — prompt, Generate, prompt ideas (cover).
• Credit meter — Mochi video 100 credits; Replay 50 on the pricing footnote.
• Lite / Standard queues — higher priority and commercial use on paid cards.
• Open weights — github.com/genmoai/mochi (Apache 2.0).
• Self-host path — Gradio / CLI in the repo when you have the GPU.

Who it's for

Best fit: researchers and prompt explorers who want Mochi in the browser, or a local install.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-22 (Asia/Shanghai) from the live monthly cards on genmo.ai/pricing (JS-rendered). Yearly is 20% off on the toggle.

• Free — $0 / month. 250 lifetime credits after adding a payment method (the card stays at $0 on that line). Genmo watermark.
• Lite — $10 / month (page prints save $24 / year on annual). 1,200 credits / month; commercial use.
• Standard — $30 / month (save $60 / year on annual). 5,000 credits / month; early model access.

Self-host Mochi is $0 software (Apache 2.0); you pay the GPU.

Limitations / costs

• Free lifetime credits are 250 once, unlocked after a payment method.
• Mochi burns 100 credits per playground video on the footnote.
• Local Mochi wants a large GPU (repo notes ~60GB, or ComfyUI on less).
• Playground clips are short research-preview clips on the open-model writeup.

Alternatives

• Runway — hosted video/image studio with yearly Standard / Pro / Max cards.
• Luma AI — Ray / uni Agents API when you want a REST video pipeline.
• ComfyUI — local node graph when you will run Mochi weights yourself.
