Flowise

What it is for

Flowise is a self-hosted visual builder for LLM agents and chatflows: the official README still (see the cover: wf1, Serp API, Calculator, OpenAI text-davinci-003, MRKL Agent for LLMs) is the canvas. Use it when the job is wire tools to an agent on a node graph, not when you want a hosted chat window.

The community packages are Apache-2.0 (enterprise folders are a separate commercial license). Self-host is $0. The GitHub repo is archived. We found no public Flowise Cloud dollar on flowiseai.com/pricing (that URL is a sign-in wall).

What makes it unique: the cover is Flowise’s own Agentflow chrome — Serp API key field, OpenAI node, MRKL agent — not a wordmark.

Key features

• Agentflow canvas — Serp API, Calculator, OpenAI, and an MRKL agent on one graph (cover).
• Assistant / Chatflow / Agentflow — three builders on the docs intro (simple assistant, single-agent chat, multi-agent orchestration).
• API, SDK, CLI, embed — documented as first-class ways to ship a flow.
• Self-host — npx flowise start then http://localhost:3000 (Getting started).
• Tracing, evals, HITL — listed on the docs capability table.

Who it's for

Best fit: developers who will run Node locally or in Docker and already have model keys.

Poor fit: people who want a hosted agent studio with a printed Cloud card (Dify, Langflow).

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-21 (Asia/Shanghai) from github.com/FlowiseAI/Flowise (LICENSE.md: Apache-2.0 outside packages/server/src/enterprise) and docs.flowiseai.com/getting-started.

• Self-host / npm / Docker — $0. Apache-2.0 community code. You bring Node ≥18/20, disk, and a model key.
• Enterprise env keys — LICENSE_URL / FLOWISE_EE_LICENSE_KEY on the docs “For Enterprise” section. No public seat dollar.
• Flowise Cloud — recommended on Getting started for people who will not run a server. flowiseai.com/pricing is a login form. Do not invent a Cloud card.

Limitations / costs

• The GitHub repo is archived. Treat it as frozen unless a successor is announced.
• $0 is the software, not OpenAI. The cover still shows an API-key field.
• Enterprise folders are not Apache-2.0. Do not strip the logo on a multi-tenant SaaS clone.
• No printed Cloud $. If a card appears, re-check flowiseai.com.

Alternatives

• Langflow — MIT visual agent canvas that is still maintained.
• Dify — visual studio with a public Cloud Professional card.
• n8n — fair-code workflow builder with execution-based Cloud pricing.
