ClickHouse

What it is for

ClickHouse Cloud is a hosted OLAP SQL desk: you open the SQL Console, and a new org starts with $300 credits for 30 days. Use it when the job is warehouse queries you start with $300 trial credits, not when you need a $20 chat seat.

What makes it unique: the cover is the official ClickHouse SQL Console (hackernews table, Cell Inspector, New table) from the docs still — not a pricing card. The grid itself is ops of Queries. ClickHouse bills compute units + TB-month storage, not seats.

Key features

• SQL Console — a query / table you inspect (Cell Inspector still; docs). One grid. Cover hackernews rows, Cell Inspector, and New table are ops of this. Dashboards (beta) sit beside this.
• Services — a Cloud warehouse you size (pricing). A service, not a query. Basic / Scale / Enterprise compute rates sit here. Idle scale-to-zero prints on Basic.
• ClickPipes — a managed ingest you attach (cover “Set up a ClickPipe”; docs). A pipe, not a query. Object-storage / Kafka sources sit here.
• Backups — a snapshot of a service (docs; console Backups nav). A snapshot, not a pipe.
• Self-host / Cloud — the Apache-2.0 binary you run vs ClickHouse Cloud (GitHub; pricing). A control plane, not a console. $0 is the self-host license. Cloud starts with $300 / 30-day credits.

SDKs are install. ClickStack / AI-agent talks are generate-on-Queries or a separate observability stack — not a sixth desk on this listing.

Who it's for

Best fit: analytics teams who will burn the $300 / 30-day credits on a first SQL Console, then stay on Basic at $0.2181 / compute-unit / hour + $25.30 / TB / month when the warehouse must stay up.

Pricing

Verified 2026-10-23 (Asia/Shanghai) from clickhouse.com/pricing (N. Virginia us-east-1).

• Open Source (self-host) — $0. Apache-2.0. Confirmed by the public repo license.
• Cloud trial — $300 credits for 30 days. Ends when credits or days run out.
• Basic — storage $25.30 / TB / month; compute $0.2181 / unit / hour. MFA. Scale-to-zero when idle.
• Scale — storage $25.30 / TB / month; compute $0.2985 / unit / hour.
• Enterprise — storage $25.30 / TB / month; compute $0.3903 / unit / hour. PCI options. Do not invent an Enterprise seat $.
• Data transfer — public internet egress from $0.1152 / GB; inter-region from $0.0312 / GB.
• Managed Postgres — compute/storage from $0.125 / unit / hour on the same page (a sibling product, not this listing’s meter).

Confirm checkout; taxes follow your location.

Limitations / costs

• $300 is trial credits, not a forever Free plan. Self-host is the $0 path.
• Basic compute is still $/hour. A forgotten service burns credits.
• An OLAP desk, not a streaming view. For Materialize credits see Materialize. For time-series SQL see QuestDB.

Alternatives

• Materialize — streaming SQL when the view must stay correct as the source moves, not ClickHouse batches.
• Tinybird — analytics APIs when you want a published endpoint, not a SQL Console.
• MotherDuck — hosted DuckDB when you want a DuckDB warehouse, not ClickHouse.
