Our take
Pick Captions if creators who already film themselves and want captions plus generative B-roll in one app. Pick Descript if podcasters and video editors who already think in a script and will spend media hours. Skip Captions if people who start from a blog URL (Pictory) or a meeting bot (tl;dv). Skip Descript if people who need a text-to-video model (Runway, Kling AI) or speech-only TTS (ElevenLabs).
